Monday 2 September - Morges narrow gauge and the Bercher Post Bus.

First thing we took the local train to Chavornay to see what was happening here.
We arrived at the same time as a couple of Re 4/4s which picked up the train in the background

There was a Vectron close to the station

What a difference some 40 years can make
We went on to Morges to watch the transfers between the gauges.  We have seen this before but this time we were able to watch the complete train of events - narrow to standard and then standard to narrow.

The standard gaige Re 4/4 also helped

Pulling out the cars on to the narrow gauge skates
Narrow gauge passenger train arriving at Morges

Standard gauge Re 4/4 leaving with the gravel train on the main line
We took the train up to Morges only to find that our preferred lunch restaurant was closed today

Going back to Morges and then Lausanne, we found our way to Lausanne Flon and took the line out to Echallens and Bercher.

From Bercher there is a very pleasant ride on the Post Bus back to Yverdon. It was full of school kids who were noisy but well behaved. The route goes through many small villages and the kids were dropped off. By the time we arrived at our destination the bus was practically empty.

As we arrived back at Yverdon-les-Bains we caught this green Re 4/4. Can't be many of these left in this color scheme
