The weather was much better today than yesterday. Good job too as we had several interesting stops. Dave was a fisherman at Prime Berth Fishery who has collected many of the old tools and artifacts used in the fishing industry in the past.

He towed this whale off a beach, left it to rot away for the birds and animals and then reconstructed the bones |

He showed us a very large cod |

And then demonstrated how to cut it up |

Our next stop was at the Long Point Lighthouse where the views were exceptional.
Finally we had lunch at the Auk Island Winery which produces wines from a great variety of local berries. We had a presentation and then there was a tasting of five of the local wines. Mary and I worked together so we tasted ten local wines. Some were made with iceberg water which is supposed to be extremely pure. Of the berries the one we likes the least was bakeapple. The reds and the whites were all good but somewhat sweet and resembled a dessert wine.
After checking in at Twillingate and doing our laundry we took a walk through the small fishing and tourist town.
